Fiona McDougall

Health care and social services organizations always intend to make a positive impact but are often constrained by legacy operations, bureaucratic processes, and sector politics. Over time, even the most inspired teams can get stuck behind the barriers and lose sight of what can be achieved. I love helping teams recall, articulate and re-frame what is possible. I am energized by teams who become motivated to plan and execute the steps to remove or get around those barriers.

Personal Profile

Fiona McDougall is an experienced senior leader with significant stakeholder consultation, strategic planning, project and business management experience. Fiona has held several senior management positions at large government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and consulting firms over the past twelve years. Her strengths include motivating diverse teams to work together to develop and implement business strategies and plans.
 
Fiona's consulting work has focused on assisting clients develop corporate strategies and analyze business processes and client and/or patient data to identify opportunities to address funding pressures and improve operational efficiency.

Sample Engagements

  • Developed a three-year Renal Program Strategic Plan for three partner hospitals and an independent health facility.
  • Facilitated the monthly meetings of a provincial-level home care client service directors committee to develop a collective vision, strategy and model of homecare and case management in Ontario.
  • Assisted a large Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) tackle a 5% budget deficit by identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and cost savings, and supported the implementation of those opportunities.
  • Developed a Five-Year Strategic Plan and year 1 tactical priorities plan for a large government agency.
  • Created and led the Information Technology Project Management Office for a large NFP.
  • Delivered the Provincial Electronic Client Registry Expansion Strategy on time and on budget by managing a 28-person cross-sector working group and the development of a series of reports for the expanded client registry services in Ontario.
  • Developed and implemented Customer Care and e-Business strategies for the national Federation of a large health care NFP.
